This fund offers support to patients who have exhausted all other resources to obtain their medications.  having access to the right anti-nausea drugs to combat the side effects of chemotherpy can make an incredible difference in their physical comfort.

The Breast Center provides breast health information and state-of-the-art screenign and diagnostic services. Your gift will help support early detection and breast health.

Martha Siekman Cancer Center

The Martha Siekman Cancer Center provides sophisticated medical care in a comfortable, homelike setting. It is also home to the ThedaCare Cancer Institute's state-of-the-art radiation treatment and full range of cancer care services.

Capes of Hope

Fleece capes offer comfort and warmth to women receiving radiation treatments in their fight against cancer.  The capes are designed to lift the spirits of those who wear them as they wait for treatment or go between rooms in the Cancer Center.  One patient shared, “I feel like someone is putting their arms around me each time I wear it.”  This Fund offsets the costs associated with providing this service.

Cardiac Rehabilitation/Healing Hearts Fund

Cardiac rehabilitation is essential to cardiac patients following cardiac events.  This Fund supports cardiac rehabilitation for patients without sufficient insurance coverage or the financial means to utilize these services following a heart incident.

Cardiac Services

This fund supports the costs associated with diagnostic equipment, surgical instruments, related equipment and patient comforts for the treatment, care and education of cardiology patients.

Children's Fund

The Fox Valley Children’s Fund supports projects and initiative for local children.  Your gift can provide support for ongoing treatments for diabetes and cancer, lifestyle changes including obesity, asthma, sports related injuries; as well as specialized equipment and training.

Collaborative Care

Collaborative Care is interdisciplinary care that aims to relieve suffering and improve quality of life for patients with advanced illness and their families.  It is offered simultaneously with all other appropriate medical treatment.   Your gift supports this fund and the costs associated with Collaborative Care.

 

Concussion-Wisconsin Sports Concussion

ThedaCare Orthopedics Plus - Sports Medicine is the first sports medicine organization in the area to offer the ImPACT¬¬© Concussion Management Program, a computerized assessment used by many professional athletic teams that helps determine when it's safe for an athlete to return to competition.

 

Cancer Center-Cosmetology Services

Cosmetology services help support the emotional challenges that come with hair loss often associated with chemotherapy.  The fund provides for assistance in the selection of wigs and headwear, as well as consultations on skin care and make up.

Diabetes Fund

Diabetes treatment includes diet guidelines, exercise, monitoring of blood sugars and possibly medication. Maintaining the blood glucose levels within the target range decreases the risk of diabetes complications which includes heart disease, kidney disease, eye disease and circulatory problems.  Your gift supports the costs associated with maintaining this program.

Dialysis

Patients suffering from kidney failure due to damage or disease require dialysis treatments as a replacement for kidney function.  Dialysis is a procedure in which a person’s body is cleaned of impurities and toxins, a task which his or her kidneys would perform if they were still functional.

Emergency Department

Gifts to this fund provide equipment and patient comforts for the treatment and care of patients in Appleton Medical Center’s Emergency Department.

 

Family Center/Birth Center

The Family Center at Appleton Medical Center offers beautiful home-like birthing suites that allow you to welcome your new baby in a private, comfortable suite. There is a Level II Special Care Nursery located on the Appleton Medical Center Family Birth Center.

Groth Surgery Center

Groth Surgery Center, located at Appleton Medical Center offers a full scope of day surgery procedures, biopsies and minor surgeries.

Guest House

For a patient’s loved ones who do not have a place to stay in the area, the Appleton Medical Center Foundation offers the AMC Guest House as a place for respite. For a small donation, families are able to stay close to their loved ones.

Heart Institute

The Appleton Heart Institute has been named among the 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals® by Solucient, Inc. By working closely with referring physicians and their patients, they take a personal approach to diagnosis and treatment, all to achieve the healthiest possible outcomes.

 

Intensive Care Unit

This unit provides care for trauma, post-operative and cardiology patients who require an intensive or high level of medical care and intervention. Your gift will support new equipment, furnishings, and upgrades to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

 

Siekman Cancer Center-Care Support

Whether it’s transportation or a gas card for an appointment or treatment, or phone cards to keep loved ones up-to-date, this fund attempts to relieve stress for those patients in need. Administered by the patient navigator team, the fund also offers support groups and options for second opinions.

OB Services

Appleton Medical Center Family Center provides a full range of support services to ensure that you get the care you and your baby need when you want and need it.  Services include childbirth and child care educational classes, prenatal breast feeding classes, “Great Expectations” educational book, lactation services, post-delivery support groups, and the “Remembering Through Sharing” program.

 

Oncology

Medical oncology is the specialty of medicine that relates to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer patients. The practice of medical oncology is performed by physicians who are board certified in oncology and can offer treatment for malignant (cancerous) or benign (non-cancerous) tumors.

Palliative Care

This team specializes in the relief of pain, symptom and stress management caused by serious illness. The team works with patients and their families educating them about the choices available for medical care and the best possible quality of life.

 

Pulmonary Rehabilitation

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Fund benefits patients with insufficient insurance coverage or financial means to participate in the pulmonary rehabilitation program at Appleton Medical Center.

Quilt Fund

Lap size quilts are made for patients in the Martha Siekman Cancer Center to use during chemotherapy.  This Fund offsets the costs associated with quilt-making.

Radiology Services

Radiation oncology, also known as radiation therapy, is used to shrink or destroy the cancer cells while missing critical organs and normal tissue. The radiation oncologist will work closely with your other physicians to provide the best care available.

Jayme Reetz Scholarship Fund

In memory of Jayme, to honor her life and career, the family and friends of Jayme L. Reetz established the Fund in 1997 in hopes that the scholarship will help others achieve their professional goals.  Jayme was dedicated to Appleton Medical Center for 12 years as a registered nurse in Cardiac Intensive Care and Post Anesthesia Care Units.

 

Sharon Stanlik Nursing Scholarship Fund

The Sharon Stanlik Nursing Scholarship was established in 2006 in loving memory of Sharon’s mother Virginia Plewa who passed away at Appleton Medical Center.  Appleton Medical Center Foundation along with William and Sharon Stanlik are proud to offer this scholarship opportunity through the generosity of the Sharon Stanlik Endowment Fund.
